Last updated: 31/08/2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Scaleup, operating scaleup.lol ("ScaleUp", "we", "us"), collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data. It is drafted in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. What we collect
- Contact details you give us when claiming a rank or reaching out — name, email address, and phone number.
- Listing content you submit — brand name, description, and link.
- Payment confirmation data — our payment gateway shares confirmation that a payment succeeded and the amount, but ScaleUp does not receive or store your card number, UPI ID, or bank credentials.
- Basic usage data — standard web analytics such as pages viewed and approximate location by IP, used to understand how the Site is used.
2. Why we collect it
- To place and manage your listing on the leaderboard
- To send you transactional updates — for example, that your rank has been outbid
- To respond to support requests or grievances
- To meet our own legal and tax record-keeping obligations under Indian law
3. How we share it
We share payment information only with our payment gateway partner, strictly to process your transaction. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may disclose data if required by Indian law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority.
4. Data storage and security
We take reasonable security practices and procedures, in line with the IT Rules 2011, to protect the data we hold from unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. No online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your rights
As a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or outdated data
- Ask us to erase your data, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations
- Withdraw consent for optional processing, such as marketing communications
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on the Contact page.
6. Cookies
The Site may use basic cookies to keep the leaderboard functioning correctly and to understand aggregate traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not work as intended if you do.
7. Data retention
We retain listing and payment records for as long as needed to meet our tax and accounting obligations under Indian law, and delete or anonymise data that is no longer required beyond that period.
